President's Designee
Elise-Alexandria (Elise) Green joined Sonoma State University as the new Director of Tribal Relations. Elise is an enrolled member of the Hualapai Tribe and is culturally affiliated with the Havasupai Tribe, both on ancestral lands in Arizona. Elise holds a Master’s in Legal Studies with an emphasis in Federal Indian Law from Arizona State University and a Master’s of Arts in Education from Claremont Graduate University. Elise received her Bachelor’s Degree in Native American Studies and Public Policy from the University of California Riverside. She has extensive experience working with Tribal governments, Native American Indian students, and university administration. She oversees and supports the NAGPRA Program by building relationships with Northern California Tribes, state, and federal agencies.

Kirsten Twork M.A.
Repatriation Coordinator
Kirsten Twork joins Sonoma State University as a NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA Repatriation Coordinator. Kirsten received her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from Northern Michigan University. Originally from Michigan, Kirsten came to California to achieve her Master’s degree in Biological Anthropology at Chico State University. While at Chico State her passion for repatriation was discovered as she worked as a student NAGPRA repatriation assistant during the three years achieving her degree. At the end of her time at Chico, she assisted in the repatriation of 549 ancestors and 94,704 cultural items. Kirsten is going to take on the responsibilities of consulting, repatriation, and compliance of both NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA.
